I run a desktop in Southern Cross. I just wired the AC power cord right into
the boat's AC system. Sure, I have to have the inverter on to use the
machine, but it doesn't draw much power at all. BTW the system is a Sony
Vaio, which comes with a flat-screen display, which both uses less power
than a CRT and (more importantly from my point of view) doesn't take up
nearly as much space.

This is great if you want to run a laptop. I want to convert a desktop.
This will require replacing the internal power supply and using an external
LCD screen. Does anyone have a source for replacement internal power
supplies?
