I have an "off the shelf" laptop (fujitsu) that I've been using for five years without any problems. It stays below at the chart table.

Has anybody had any problems with their OceanPC computer?
Their laptops are supposed to be marinized but are they really any
different from other computes?
Not Ocean PC, but 3 years ago I bought an "Argonaut" laptop which was
supposed to be the same machine as the one West shows being doused, but no
rubber plugs. It was really "made" by Kiwi Computer in California, who has
since faded from the scene. Fortunately, a former Kiwi employee continues to
service these machines. This machine as made in Taiwan, and I believe it to
be a "generic" laptop which was modified (coated motherboard, etc) by Kiwi
for Argonaut. The markup on these machines is huge, but I have been quite
satisfied with mine, except that 166MHz is 'way too slow today! I suspect
that Ocean PC is simply a marketer, similar to Argonaut. Caveat emptor!
