Subject: [worldcruising] Still about charts...

Hi,
Charts are "kind" of expensive in Portugal, and I guess, the same aplies to
many other countries - regarding the last e-mails I've been reading,
concerning copied charts...
I'd like to know what do you think about plastifying charts, in orther to
prevent them from deteoration (caused by the constant use of it) and ageing.
Of course that, one would have to use apropriate markers instead of pencils
to draw on it...
I've used that method in aeronautical charts for 10 years, and it worked
perfectly. But, I'm affraid I might be missing some important points that
would make its application on nautical charts completely different.
What do you think?
Best regards,
Luis Gouveia
