I'm also interested in hearing about the Dufour (re: George Carpenter's
inquiry). I'm preparing to buy my first offshore boat and it is one of
the boats that has made my short list.
I have another inquiry regarding Keel / Centerboard configurations. It
sounds like a good compromise between having a deep keel for offshore
work, as well as a shoal draft option for gunkholeing. However a friend
brought up the concern that the centerboard retract slot might become
fouled with growth, barnacles, weed, etc. which might cause the
centerboard to jam, or to not retract at all. Does anyone have any
comments? Are these designs prone to this type of problem, and how
difficult is it to keep them clean?

Cheers!
Rik
