Subject: [worldcruising] SSB's ICOM vs SEA vs Furuno

There has been a lot of postings about ICOM and SGC. However I am
debating between the ICOM 700, or 710 and the SEA 235. Any comments?
Two considerations are:
What options are needed so I don't toast the unit when sending email
(ie fans)?
I also understand that the ICOM's will not function at all if the
mike is damaged. That may sound funny, but a mike does more than just
transmit.
Also Furuno makes a SSB, Anybody have a Furuno 1502?
