    I believe the two-dipstick engine would provide statistically more accurate
    results since in any type of seaway, the rolling of the vessel would cause
    the crankcase oil level to move back and forth, seeking a level state
    relative to the earth, whereby dipstick indications from both sides of the
    engine could be averaged for the true level. A single dipstick would
    appear to present random measurements in this situation. Now if you could
    just figure out a way to pull both dipsticks simultaneously, which would be
    a requirement.

    Whoever started this thread will live to regret it. At least I hope so.
