Regarding the need for a laptop stand, I have a suggestion.
I believe others have maybe already suggested it.
DeLorme Mapping sells the Jotto Desk, a detachable Lap Top computer mount for
use in automobiles, costs about $149, is intended for use with their
EarthMate or TripMate GPS receiver & their Street Atlas USA mapping CD
software in vehicles, for Mac or PC, where your vehicle is a dot on a moving
scrolling football sized color map of the USA showing every street, and the
computer barks out (polite) driving directions to your selected destination
address. You might find this stand suitable for a laptop used for navigation
in a wheelhouse. I only have the software at this point, which I use for
mapping, but I plan to order the Jotto Desk shortly also for vehicle
navigation.
