    Listees,

This query is for Paul Kruse and anyone else with an opinion on the
subject. Now that I have my 36' trawler with single NA Perkins 130 hp.,
I plan to do some trolling for rockfish in the Chesapeake. I grew up
doing lots of this on my Dad's boats but they were all gasoline powered
and those engines didn't mind idleing all day.

I guess I'm wondering if diesels have any complaints about running at
700-800 rpms for hours at a time. I've heard that diesels like to be at
normal operating temperature and I doubt if that's achieved while being
operated this way. Then, on the other hand, I see the big trucks being
left to idle all night at truck stops during cold weather. So maybe
    it's a non-issue.

Anyway, any comments will be appreciated.
