    Hi Dick:

I agree with George on this. We do this for our customers all the time and
we usually use the RAM mounts as shown at the website shown below. I have
the RAM ball mounts located on either side of both of our steering stations
(Salon and Bridge) so that's 4 of the round ball mounts. With this setup
you need just one set of arms and tray. You can move the whole laptop
mounting including the arm and tray to either side of the steering position
with the quick release mechanism. This helps a lot to give you the best
no-glare view. As the RAM is a dual articulated ball joint you can change
the angle of the laptop through all axis. We also use the RAM ball mount to
    hold the portable GPS

In addition to the mount you can buy or make pretty good hoods to shade the
    screen from other sources.

Also, I have discovered that, at least with Nobeltec's VNS, that converting
the route colors from default (green) to a bright red and making the route a
little thicker line, helps to make it easier to see. I also changed the
boat Icon color. There are also some "custom" cursors available to enable
the very hard to see cursor much more visible in bright light. Finally, if
you've ever tried to operate your mouse pad in rough seas, you will discover
the value of a remote mouse contraption, which is a hand operated mouse on
the end of a cord. Unfortunately I have lost touch with a vendor for these.
    Anybody ??
