I cannot imagine any insurance company not requiring a good survey before
writing a policy. That's just SOP for the industry. I think any boat over
3 years old requires a survey. Your lending institution will also require
the survey assuming you need to borrow the $$ to buy it.

extensive surveyors reports etc.
