#6 with a 50 amp breaker at the house with 30 and 50 amp breakers at the pedistal is what I would use.

Subject: T&T: Power cable to dock

I need to run electrical power, TV cable and CAT 5E data cable from my house to
my dock. I have purchased a commercial dock power box with (1) 50 amp 125/250
    volt, (1) 30 amp 125 volt, (1) dual 20 amp 125 GFI outlet, (1) coax TV and (1)
RJ 45. The cable run will be about 180 feet from the house to the dock.

I have gotten quotes from two electricians for the job. Both have quoted two
outdoor grade PVC conduits (one for the electrical and a separate one for the TV
    and data cable).

One quoted #4 copper cable (he said it is marine grade cable) and the other
quoted #3 copper cable (THHW)... The price difference between the two jobs is
    about $725.

Both electricians state that their specs (cable) meet electrical code and they
plan on putting a 100 amp breaker at the house.

Any electrician on the list have any comments?

BTW, at different times, the dock power will be used for a boat with two 30 amp
125 volt inlets and at a different time for a boat with a single 50 amp 125/250
volt inlet. In the future, I will probably tap off some power for a single
    flood light on the dock.
