Get a piece of 1/8" thick aluminum flat stock about 2 to 2 1/2 inches wide.
pick a length that you need to reach a stringer or blukhead. Bend an "L" shape
about 2 1/2" from one end and mount your new switch, then mount the other
end to you stringer etc and bend the new bracket to what ever shape you need
for the depth of the bilge.

Ours is a Taiwan style trawler with a deep and narrow bilge. The float
switch died and I'm trying to replace it. I need some suggestions.
1. The switch was mounted on a wooden backing covered with fiberglass.
(It has rotted away and is not useable)
2. The bilge is so narrow and deep, I cannot get my hand in and down
far enough to replace either the board or the switch.
Does anyone have an alternative mounting suggestion that I might try?
Thanks.
(I'm about ready to tie the float to a brick and toss it in the deep
abyss)
