I would agree that AYB is very helpful and friendly, but I was appalled to
find them removing our prop nuts by hammering on a pipe wrench! Of course
this resulted in chewing up the flats of the nuts. When I stopped the workman
and asked for a proper wrench to be used I was referred to James Taylor, the
General Manager. He said, "That's the way we've always done it." Unbelievable
that a yard in business that long doesn't have proper slug wrenches for this
purpose.
Also, be sure you make them put the *all* the plastic sleeves on the slings
when you haul and launch. And, my replacing our own zincs wasn't appreciated.
It's not a DIY yard.
To their credit, they very generously allowed us to stay on their docks for
free when the ICW was blocked for several days last Fall. If you are hauling
there you won't be charged for dockage for a day or two on either end.
Regards,
John

>Two places that come immediately to mind for this purpose are
Atlantic Yacht Basin in Great Bridge Va, (where I just had a superb
customer service experience), and Ocean Marine in Portsmouth, where
the big boys play, but with whom I have no direct experience.
