Accuweather predicts that this year should see about 12 named storms and
hurricanes in the Gulf and Atlantic coast areas. This is about average. It also
predicts that the probability of hurricanes hitting the Atlantic coast between
the Carolinas to New England will be higher than normal, about 1.6 times the
usual frequency. This may be the season for the long overdue Atlantic Clipper.
