The recent questions about Boat Lettering? caused me to remember that I need to remove the old hailing port off the stern and add the new one. Can someone give me a few pointers on removing vinyl letters from an Awlgrip painted surface? (white) ? I sure don't want to do anything that will soften the paint around and underneath the letters.
? For instance, can I use a heat gun if I'm careful ? Or is that just a bad idea to begin with ? Also, I seem to remember something about using oven cleaner. How about using one of the products that soften and remove the glue remnants left after removing a bumper sticker, such as 'Goof Off' or 'Goo Gone'?? What's worked for you ?
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks everyone.
