When checking weight on a Travelift:
1. The greater the sling angle (from the vertical) the more the readings
will be off (heavy).
2. Most TravelLift gauges are inaccurate.
When figuring fuel consumption:
1. It must be done over a long time to be accurate. Flow meters are almost
useless for accurate consumption.
2. Windage has a huge effect - moreso than sea state. One reason why the
riding sail will be resurrected and used downwind beginning this year. Despite
being about the size of a Sunfish sail, it is usually good for at least a
half-knot in 20.
