The RCI 1000 was already installed on our boat when we bought it last year.
It is set up as an independent system with a RACOR 1000 between it and the
DC pump that draws fuel, from the bottom of the tanks, thru the polisher.
If by some chance water got past the RCI (full of water?) the RACOR would
catch it. The beauty of this set up is that I can polish without having to
run the main. There is a manifold on the output of the pump that allows me
to route the discharge to another filter that feeds the main in case of
primary fuel pump failure.
Unless you know you have a fuel problem, polishers are like spurs on your
shaft. They quietly do their job and you don't know how effective they are
until you open the drain and get something other than good clean diesel.
The one experience I had with their tech support was good.
Their web site is http://www.rcipurifier.com/.
A satisfied, 2nd hand customer.

I just attended the FISH EXPO ATLANTIC, the largest commercial marine show
on the East Coast at the Providence Convention Center. It's a legitimate
event, sponsored by National Fisherman Magazine with hundreds of exhibitors.
The invitation came through this T&T list (Thanks Tim). One of the
exhibitors is a company called RCI technologies which was showing a fuel
purification system which uses no filter element or moving parts. Their
demonstration was impressive and the dirty fuel they pumped through their
devise came out clean. I checked it out on the web, and their list of
customers is also impressive. It includes Caterpillar, Cummings, John Deere,
school bus companies, all the armed forces; the list goes on. If this thing
works, why isn't it a topic on this list? Anybody KNOW anything about it?
Anybody using it? Let's not post our gut feelings, or best guesses; if
anybody has any real experience with this product, I, for one, would
like to hear it.
