    This may be true of larger or custom built yachts, but is simply not
    true of standard, production yachts. And, is certainly not true of any
    older yacht.

    Once boats have been exposed to the corrosive effects of time, weather
    and, worst of all, the effects of owners with their lamp-cord, incorrect
    hoses, hose clamps, and "I don't need marine grade, I can get the same
    thing at the hardware store" attitude, any standards of construction
    have been distorted beyond recall.

    It's important to understand that the vast majority of insured losses
    occur in the slip!!!
