    As some mentioned, price here in SW FL is under 2 a foot. I used to pay $75 for my 45'. Now do it myself after getting SCUBA qualed. Just anchor in about 10 feet of water and have away at it.
       
      Cost of class and gear will be recuped in abt a year and a half plus the side benefit I can now dive on the anchor, clean line off a prop (heaven forbid) and get to see the pretty fishes.
