Good Morning Steve-
We have the dual racor filter that you have the question on. The valve is four-way- off, both, right filter or left filter.
To change a filter, switch the valve to off or to the opposite filter. When filling the filter that was replaced, just turn the valve to both or to the filter that you want to fill.
Our filter will gravity fill until the level of fuel in the tank reaches the level of fuel in the filter, then we have to pump it in. Our pump is simply an in-line bulb pump that is used on outboard engine tanks, fitted in-line to the filter.
If your fuel will gravity feed, you can dispense with the valve on the filter and instead, just use the valve on your fuel tank.
