Rich, those old carbon mikes are pretty much indestructible. I bet you have
a broken wire right at the base of the mike. Unplug the mike, take it apart
and ohm out the wires. You should be able to cut the wires peal the insulation
back and rewire it without a lot of trouble.

listen mode works well coming back through the main and lower deck speakers.
