Hello All,
I want to thank everyone who responded to my question regarding 6volt batteries.? I do have a generator, to respond to one responder.? After researching some local purveyors of batteries, I have found a couple of which I would like your opinions:
Exide produces the GC-110 rated at 186 Ah (20 hr) w/ RC's of 390 at 25A and 110 at 75A dot ? This battery is retailing at $86.
Interstate produces the U2200 ratd at 232AH (20 hr) w/ RC's of 474 at 25A and 135 at 75A dot ? This battery is retailing for $109.95.
A similar?battery?to the above, the Exide GC-135, is rated 226, 480, and 135 retails for $143.99 while an EastPenn product rating 215,?xxx, and 115 retails for $152.33.? I believe this last product is the same as found in the?West Catalogue (pg. 370) marketed as the SeaVolt GC2?for $174.99.
Here is my dilemma.? I don't really have the money to lay out big battery dollars.? In the range of prices above, I sense I get the most bang for the buck with the Interstate U2200.? However, I sure wouldn't mind going with the inexpensive, smaller Exide GC-110 which should give me the same power as the 4D batteries I was using.? I still plan on buying four, while possibly arranging a separate starting battery.
Does anyone have experience with the specific products listed above, and given some financial limitations, how would you approach this problem?
Thanks,
Scott
