Florida DEP (Department of Environmental Protections) May Be Interfering in Orderly Process To Create Fair, Uniform Florida Statewide Anchorage Regulations
Call to Action for the Cruising Community!!!!
Hello Fellow Cruisers:
We have just put up a VERY IMPORTANT posting on all the various Floridian pages of the Salty Southeast Cruisers' Net concerning a new and potentially worrisome development in the Florida Anchoring rights issue, about which many members of the cruising community care passionately. If you even have the thought of EVER trying to anchor in the waters of the Sunshine State, let me strongly urge you to check out this new data without delay. And, I might add, this posting unusually contains rather lengthy editorial comments by yours truly.
The issue is too complex to discuss within this e-mail. Please follow the instructions below and take a few minutes to completely familiarize yourself with this new development. And, if you happen to agree with this writer's point of view, may I be so bold as to suggest you take action immediately!!!!
One other point - this new issue has the potential to affect far more cruisers than the Marco Island Anchorage Controversy. In the present instance, we are dealing with state of Florida agencies, and the Florida legislature!
To check out the full story, go to http://www.CruisersNet.net, and then peruse the navigational buttons along the left side of our home page. Locate the "Cruising News From" section, and then click either the "Eastern Florida," "Florida Keys" or "Western Florida" buttons/links. For the moment, the Anchoring Rights article in question lies at the top of all three pages, though that will change as new info is received.
That's all for now. Good luck and good cruising to all!
Claiborne S. Young
