The PO of my 120 Ford Lehman put a green head from some stationary engine on
it that has only a 1/8" (eighth inch) pipe tapped hole. Same part number head.
So I'm looking for a replacement overtemp alarm switch (not a temp sender)
with an 1/8" NPT stem. I have asked the generator and tractor supply houses. I
tried looking online for one, but I have not hit on the right phrase to
    Google, I guess.

Yes, I could drill and tap it bigger (I have found some 1/4" switches) but the
thought of those crumbs in the coolant plenum stops me. I have not been able
to figure out how to open the hole up without getting the crumbs in there. I
would like to avoid taking off the head enough that a 1/8" plug will solve
most of my problems except having an alarm in the right place.

I could put a thermocouple in the hole and read that. I have made good use of
Swagelok fittings to poke stuff into pipe tapped holes. All you have to do is
drill out the shoulder (straight through the fitting) that the tube is
supposed to seat against, and lots of nifty things like thermocouple shields,
SO cables, fiber optics, smaller tubing, etc. will swage happily with soft
Teflon ferrules, but I really want a switch for the alarm.

Well, come to think of it I haven't asked American Marine, but any suggestions
    are welcome, thanks in advance.
