My braid-chain combo came premarked with the Simpson Lawrence windlass. It
has what looks like colored dye marks about a foot long every 25' as follows:
30' chain, then
50' red
75' black
100' blue
125' black
150' yellow
175' black
200' green
225' black
250' red
