I have one of these at the river house. the community well that serves the
house is high in salt. This unit removes the salt. I know it does because a
large flat bowl of regular tap water leaves a thick white film on the
bottom of the bowl when it evaporates while water out of this unit leaves
nothing. Now, will it work with straight seawater? perhaps, but I suppose
it might clog the prefilters pretty quickly. The unit wastes about 7
gallons of water for every 1 gallon produced.
