" We finally succeeded when we realized that she thought she would be doing
something wrong if she went on the foredeck, so she wouldn't do it when we
were around. We put her on a long lead and left her alone on deck with some
drinking water for an hour. Repeated every three hours. After two days at
anchor - SUCCESS! Cami was given some filet slices and lots of loving. We
tried it a few more times and each time she caught on faster. Now we just
open the cabin door and say, "Cami, hurry up."
Washdown pumps are good for more things than cleaning off the anchor!"
I think it best to keep this technique very quiet. Next thing you know there
will be laws requiring
wire ties and secured corks on all pets aboard our boats.
