T&T: Future house batteries?

We use golf cart batteries which have roughly 220 A-H @6 volts. They store
about 1.3KW of power but only 1/2 is useful so figure 700 watts per battery.

The new batteries from Continental, A partner of Johnson Batteries I think)
produced in France for the new hybrid Mercedes S class car have a reported
    capacity of 1.9kw per liter.

Doing a little measuring of the golf carts yields a volume of about 10
liters per golf cart or roughly 10 units of the Continental.

So if the math is correct we'd have a house battery of 19KW in the same
footprint of a golf cart!! Our 16 would yield a house bank of 304 KW.

Guess we could run everything for a while without charging, eh!

If these batteries start to become common place it will certainly change our
way of thinking about house banks and charging systems. Our puny 10KW bank
could be replaced by 4 of these batteries as these LiIon's can deliver a
    greater % of it capacity!

Here is the reference that caught my eye: http://tinyurl.com/2hfq29

Better check my math too but if it works out correctly that is a quantum
    jump in energy storage capacity.
