Ole Dave should go to a few owner association web sites for more information
and maybe contact some owners of whatever he is considering. For example
Nordic Tugs have several groups for regions of the country. There is NETOA for
the northeast and SENTOA (Southeast Nordic Tugs Owner's Assoc.) for the
southeast. At _www.sentoa.org_ (http://www.sentoa.org) he will even find some
boats for sale.

Hi Dave
With a little luck and hard negotiating you should be able to get a
well-equipped Nordic or American Tug within your budget.Top-notch build
quality, and no exterior wood. In 2006, we bought a 40' 2001 Pacific
Trawler, the boat from which the two tug designs were drawn. (Nordic bought
Pacific Trawler in 1996 and re-designed the interior.) All three are
wonderful cruising boats.

"With the approaching possibility of semi retirement and more time
becoming available to enjoy cruising I've been struggling with the
Pros and Cons of purchasing a Trawler style vs a Motor Yacht. Anyone
want to jump in with opinions they would be greatly appreciated.
My budget is in the $300-400K range and I really don't want a boat
over 10 years old because I like the amenities of the more modern
boats even though probably not constructed as ruggedly..."
