For those in "temperate" zones where you are not in a hard freeze all
winter but only periodic freezing. How does your marina deal with the
    possibilty of pipe freezing?

In my marina the water system is shut off and blown out with compressed
air in November and turned back on in March. No boat washing, no fire hose
capability. On one dock the water is left on with a couple of taps left
running. This is under a bridge where bird droppings can be a problem.

There must be a better way. I had the bright idea of temperature sensors
to open taps below a certain temperature. Are there such animals
available? We usually have plenty of water available in the PNw during the
    winter.

    Thanks

    John
