Roy, I mounted a Humminbird puck type transducer shooting through the hull
in lazarette of my boat. It works fine. The Camano has hard chines in the back
so the hull is pretty much horizontal just forward of the transom I believe
the Gulfstar has a more rounded hull. I have seen information on mounting them
on a rounded hull it looks a bit more complicated but I understand it can be
     done.
Maybe someone who has done that will reply.
