A really good pump will run without 'throwing in' a diaphragm every year!!!!
Sureflow chose the wrong elastomer for the part, or designed it with too much
stress on it. Don't excuse the manufacturer when a premium priced product
doesn't perform. Maybe the Japanese recreational product makers will get
involved and clean their clocks like the Toyotas and Hondas did in
automotive.
