I sometimes get receipts from using my debit card (admittedly not my credit card but still kinda sorta the same thing ?) that contain the entire number.

I think the law is that the copy given to the customer can only contain the last
four digits of a credit card number, and that is because consumers are so
careless with their receipts.
The merchants copy has all the digits.

The law was that we, Skipper Bob Publications, could not keep a record of a
persons credit card number in a file.? We could only keep names and
purchases and last 4 of the CC.? I don't know if that has changed but that
is what Bob told me some years ago.
