Ron
i have 5 sea chests on the side of the hull, 3 on port, 2 on starboard.
all discahrges (shower sumps, bilge pumps, sinks, ACs, etc...) are routed
to these sea chest. Each just has a discharge hole near just above water
line... all fittings to the sea chests are at least 12" above the water
line.
pretty good setup since it eliminates rows of thruhulls...

| check valves on bilge pumps are a disaster waiting to happen.. they
are
| submerged, why do you want to worry about priming them.
|
| Like most, I will NEVER put a checkvalve on a bilge pump...
|
| i also don't understand why you'd want syphon breaks for bilge
pumps on a
| trwaler. on a sail, boat, I can understand because of extreme
healing but
| not on a power boat. the discharge should be hugh enough that it
can't
get
| submerged... ex. 12" abouve water line with a riser loop.
