Ken,
That must have been a big leak to bring in that much water in a short time.
If the thruhulls seem ok and you are not connected to pressurized shore water,
check the bilge pump system. Many bilge pump lines have a one way check valve
to make sure a centrifugal pump stays primed. If a small piece of debris keeps
the valve open and the siphon breaker is clogged (or absent), the line can
act as a siphon and suck water into the boat. It almost happened to me.
