I totally forgot about this but many years ago I owned a '79 Mainship. We developed a leak in the stbd' fuel tank. We pumped it empty, pulled up the carpet and cut out the plywood cabin sole and framing and pulled the tank out the top. It was aluminum and I took it to a welding shop where they found the leak and welded it up. I reinstalled it, sistered the deck framing and reinstalled the plywood and carpet. In the main, it was pretty easy!
