Hi gents -
No sense in re-inventing the wheel. The French figured this out years ago.
Find an Amel Super Maramu (ketch-rigged 53' sailboat - white with brown
plastic teak) at your favorite marina, buy the owner a beer and ask for a demo.

> I'm trying to figure out a way to add a shower for the anchor chain that
would direct a spray of water more or less at the roller on the anchor
platform so I wouldn't have to hold a hose nozzle while bringing in the
chain. That would let me concentrate on getting the anchor to fall into
the chain locker without creating a hockle, etc. The salt water washdown
system is already in place; I'd just need to connect the outlet via a
flexible/removable hose to the "shower head" before turning on the pump.
I'm thinking that PVC would work and could be easily replaced if broken.
Have any of you fabricated a unit that works well for you? How did you
fasten it so it stays aimed at the right spot?
