    We used to buy engineering notebooks at an office supply store. I don't know
    if Staples keeps them in stock but they are easy to find in office supply
    stores or bookstores near colleges. The books are 8 1/2 by 11" size and stitch
    bound with numbered pages. They are often admitted as evidence in patent
    litigation cases and must meet the same criteria against tampering as a ship's
    log.
