Buoy and other near coastal observations in the past hour indicate that
the intense part of the storm is very narrow along a front from about
Crescent City to Destruction Island. The high wind and waves appears to
be a band of about 100 miles wide near the coast. In the past hour winds
are about 45 with gusts to 55, wave heights near 20 feet.
Outside of this narrow band, the wave and winds are more on the order of
25 knots and 10 foot seas.

This is a very interesting storm. It is almost exactly 50 weeks since
the biggest storm of Fall 2006, which resulted in the loss of the
Catamaran CatShot. I would say that the Dec 2006 storm was much worse
than this. Standby while the fury finds it's strength.
