I don't think I'd mess with paint. I have a 10ft Avon RIB that is over 6
years old, and I just used the vinyl numbers and they look as good as new
after 6 years. (Went to a local sign shop and had them made up for about
$20) The dingy sits in a cradle on top of the Mothership under a covered
dock most of the time, but the dingy has been used a lot, and has been
exposed to the elements quite a bit, lost air and been reinflated over and
over, and the letters aren't trying to let go at all. There is always
someone on the list that will swear it won't work, but trust me, it sure
will.
