A couple of weeks ago I asked the List for assistance in finding a small
coolant leak. Lots of excellent suggestions, but if there were a prize, it
would go to John Gallagher ( jag at vcn.bc.ca) who expressed the hope that
it wouldn't be the engine coolant loop to the fresh water heater.

I finally got to the boat on my own today, did a cursory check on the HW
heater but it looked fine, re-re-checked all the spots I'd checked before
with no further success, and then went back to the HW heater. Of course it's
in a somewhat cramped space beside the inverter, but this time I decided to
squirm in for an up close and personal examination, and pulled out some
engine room supplies that were in the way, sitting on the bottom of the
hull. Oops, the bottoms of the jugs were wet with anti-freeze. However, even
with a clear view all round the heater except for the rear, I still saw no
trace of a leak, until the LED flashlight at a particular angle showed just
the slightest green tinge on a small area of the shelf beside the HW heater.
With my nose almost touching the shelf and peering between it and the
heater, I could see droplets of anti-freeze at the rear of the unit.
Unfortunately, I didn't have time today to pull the heater to determine if
it's just a bad hose or hose connection, or a failed coil, but at least the
    source has been found.

Many thanks to everyone for all the help. I'll let you know the final
outcome as soon as I get the time to do the neessary.

    Cheers, Garrett
