I had a 454 volvo that I winterized every winter for about 12 years. Easy to
do with a Camco winterizing kit. Until the winter of 2005. Spring of 2006
revealed a cracked block resulting in a long bock replacement for about
$4000. The mechanic said that often what happens is that antifreeze doesn't
get all the way into the hot water heat exchanger and then works its way
back into the block. It's cheap until it isn't cheap. I suggest you consider
the boat us freeze coverage in their policy if you do it yourself.
