Last week there were 'high' winds on the San
Francisco Bay. it was only 25-35 knot winds.
All the commuter ferries that cross the windiest
part of the Bat were shut down. They are catamaran
ferries.
The explanation was simple; "The catamarans are
not safe in winds over 30 knots".\ These are VERY
large catamarans but still are not safe in winds
over 30 knots.
