Jim, I had to replace two 100 gallon fuel tanks onboard the original
Sanderling a year ago. Didn't cost as much as I had anticipated and
planned for, but I think I got a really good deal.

A boat yard handled the entire thing. The project included: removing
both FL-90 diesel engines, removing the Onan genset, removing cribbing
between the fuel tanks and the engine room, removing the tanks
themselves (both outboard of the main engines), having exact duplicate
tanks fabricated from stainless steel (perhaps it was aluminum - I'd
have to check my notes), replacing the tanks, blocking them in place,
replacing the engines, replacing the genset, reconnecting everything.
While the engine room was empty, I cleaned everything and repainted.
Also changed everything on the engines while they were out of the boat.

Whole thing cost in the neighborhood of $7 K for the replacement work
and the new tanks (they ran about $1K each). I had other work done by
the yard at the same time (cost not included in the replacement cost).
