The proper propeller selection is not as simple
as matching the props to what you had on an
    earlier boat.
Since this one was a live-aboard it may be loaded
differently. If there is additional water storage,
or additional gear etc that will cause the boat to
sit lower in the water. Is the bottom clean? Any
    different protuberances?

Then again you indicate that it is achieving the
8 knot speed at a lower RPM.
I suspect the actual props are not the same as
your previous boat. But then again if you operate
at 1600 or more RPM I would not expect that to
cause any damage to your engines.

I would choose between re-pitching the currant
props or leaving them as is.

Are you getting better (lower) fuel usage as
    well?
That would be a good thing!
