Tom asked: Has anyone purchased the anti-roll trays made by Prime
    Fabrication for use

at anchor? I was considering using one at the end of my davit boom for my

60,000 lb trawler while at anchor.

The price is steep and I was also considering having one made locally.

    Anyone gone that route?

Scott replies: Prime Fabribrication is owned by Trevor Streech, son of Dan
Streech, co-founder of PAE, maker of Nordhavn yachts. Prime is kept busy
making components for Nordhavns being commissioned, as well as other
individual customers I'm sure. The level of fit and finish is what accounts
for the high price. If ever there was something that could be made locally
at a substantial savings, it's a pair of flopper stopper plates. However,
the plate that goes in the water is only part of the system. Unless your
dingy boom is capable of getting the plate 10 feet away from the side of the
boat I'm not sure I'd consider it effective.
