Larry, there is a product called Adtec 77 or 78. If you do not know what
kind of materials have been made in the past on the bottom I highly suggest
that you use this product. You can use 77 below or above the water line. It
will stick to polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy. It will fully cure in 20
minutes and you can sand it in 8 to 10 min. You will not have to worrier
about what you are applying it to! It makes life a lot easier when doing
    this application!

There is a website that you can purchase the product from
(www.fiberglassonline.biz) I cold molded my 42 Grand Banks and purchased the
majority of my materials form them. If you are looking for fiberglass or
high-quality paints they have super prices. Call or email them and ask them
to send a material spec sheet. There is a woman there her name is Genny. She
has been in the boat building business for over 25 years; she has a great
    deal of knowledge.

    Good luck,
