    Brian,
    Yes, the voltage the engine is getting will have a small effect on the
    temperature gage reading. I notice the same effect on my John Deere 80
    horse 4039DFM (natural). You will get used to it, eventually. If it
    bothers you, you could add an integrated circuit voltage regulator at the
    panel input (but connect the voltage meter before the regulator).
