I apologize to the T&T list for wasting bandwidth with the double posting of
"Much ado about anchoring. Part 2." In my defense all I can say is that I was
notified by the Listmeister that the first submission was slightly too long so
I edited out a few hundred bytes and sent it again, unaware that both copies
would be posted.
Carl is right. The stock Danforth skips over grass. That's why I sharpened
it. It now penetrates matted grass and weeds very well. The holding power is
enhanced because you have to rip the grass mat free of the bottom before it
releases. In fact I have difficulty pulling it up even by powering over it. As
far a
s the sharpened edges rusting, a few strokes of a resharpening file every
season restores the anchor's pristine appearance. I can live with it.
Two replies in one post. Making up for wasted bandwidth.
