I have long predicted that the expensive LED nav (and perhaps other) LED
lights will light no more after a close or direct hit, and would be interested
to hear of any experiences.

>I had a near lightning strike. The bolt hit the water about 100 yards from
my
boat. I could feel a tingling all over my body. What was left of my hair
stood on end. Every piece of electronics connected to an antenna was fried.
The
autopilot control head needed a repair for blown capacitors.
Otherwise no damage. I wonder how the microcomputer in an electronically
controlled diesel would have fared.
